Salute to America
July 2-5, 2014 (6-10pm)
Join us to celebrate Independence Day with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
A classic Independence Day celebration with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra that’s as full of freedom-loving fanfare as they come.

July Fourth is the quintessential American holiday. It’s the day we became America, after all. What better occasion for a party? A four-day party at that! We’ve got it all: picnics and festive holiday food from our award-winning culinary staff. Plenty of activities for kids, too. And loads of entertaining live preshow music. Then comes the centerpiece of the evening: a concert by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, conducted by music director Leonard Slatkin. For the grand finale, the orchestra plays Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, featuring authentic cannon fire and a spectacular fireworks display accompanied by live patriotic music.

This is an outdoor event and held rain or shine. Click here to read our severe weather policy before purchasing tickets.
